Remembering Abby

Abigail G. Wall

On 11 September, following a long, courageous battle with cancer, Abby Wall went to heaven where she will smile, laugh, sing, dance and watch over her loved ones.
Abby was born Abigail Grace Shea on April 7, 1955 in Somerville, NJ. She met her husband, Bill, on a ski trip in Canada. They married in 1993 and she moved to Camp Hill to begin living the happiest and best years of her life with Bill at her side.
Abby spent 23 years working for AT&T. She also spent 7 years working at the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot. She was an avid skier, gardener, runner, golfer, biker, kayaker, reader and quilter. She enjoyed cooking, baking, bird watching and everything about making her house a home for herself and her husband. She loved doing stonework, both garden walls and walkways. She loved all things Irish and her favorite symbol was the shamrock. She found joy and satisfaction in most every sport, hobby and undertaking that she tried. Abby enjoyed life to it fullest. She and Bill shared most sports and interests together. They loved spending time and traveling with friends, who were like family to her. She loved children and animals. Two special boys, were William and Ben Nichols. They were like the grandchildren she never had and they made her heart smile.
Abby earned her Bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. She earned her degree in night school while working full time and graduated Summa cum laude in 1992. She was a member of Phi Zeta Kappa, Phi Omega Epsilon and Delta Mu Delta Honor Societies. She also earned a Horticulture certificate from Harrisburg Community College.
Her father, James Shea of Florence, Colorado, who died on March 1, 2008, predeceased Abby. In addition to her husband, William Wall, Abby is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Shea, of S. Bound Brook, NJ and two sisters, April Shea of S. Bound Brook, NJ and Susan Coyle and her husband Harry of Glassboro, NJ and their son, Josh. She is also survived by her mother-in law, Helen Wall of Walkersville, MD; her sister-in-law, Mary Cassidy, of Douglassville, PA and her daughters, Stacy and Tracy Prout and her husband Matt; her brother-in-law, Joe and his wife, Maureen of Royersford, PA, and their sons, Ryan and Corey; her sister-in-law, Patricia Arnold and husband Ed of Dillsburg, PA, and their children, Amanda and Chris, and also Dawn and Jerry; her sister-in-law, Kathy Brown of Oley, PA, and her children, Brian and Kelly Ortlip; and her brother-in-law, David of Lebanon, PA. Many great nieces and great nephews on the Wall side of the family also survive her. She was a Weller girl!
